Jason Miyares Does Nothing as Trump’s Extreme Agenda Puts Virginians’ Economy and Healthcare Access at Risk

Norfolk, VA – Jason Miyares has done nothing to protect Virginia families as Donald Trump has cut healthcare and his “increasing tariffs and federal job cuts” threaten Virginians’ pocketbooks and access to critical care. According to new reporting from Axios, “states most exposed to federal job cuts, like Virginia,” are “in or at high risk of a recession” – but Jason Miyares has refused to defend Virginia’s 300,000 federal workers amid Trump’s promises to slash the federal workforce. 

To add insult to injury, new data shows Virginians “are already seeing next year’s [ACA] premiums spike because of expiring tax credit enhancements” – and while other AGs have worked to protect affordable healthcare, Miyares is nowhere to be found. This is no surprise, as Miyares has opted out of defending Virginians against Trump’s devastating cuts to Medicaid, which will throw nearly 300,000 people off their healthcare and is already forcing clinics across rural Virginia to close.
