Questions that MAGA Miyares Needs to Answer as Trump Fires Virginia U.S. Attorney for Not Prosecuting Political Opponents

Norfolk, VA – Days after President Trump fired Interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Erik Siebert for refusing to prosecute his political opponents without cause, MAGA Attorney General Jason Miyares still refuses to condemn the blatant abuse of power. As Miyares continues his pattern of putting loyalty to Donald Trump ahead of Virginians, we have some questions for him:

1. Why should Virginians trust you to defend our justice system if you won’t even speak up on behalf of a Republican prosecutor you supported?
2. Do you believe the president has the right to prosecute his political enemies?
3. Do you agree with the president’s decision to fire Erik Siebert and former GOP speaker Todd Gilbert? 
4. Would you have supported Erik Siebert if he had bowed to Trump’s demand to prosecute the president’s political opponents?
5. If Trump ordered you to investigate other Virginia attorneys for political reasons, can you guarantee you would refuse?
