Norfolk, VA – As the USDA cancels its longstanding annual food insecurity survey that “helps shape policy on how to combat food insecurity and hunger,” MAGA AG Jason Miyares hasn’t said anything, once again proving he is too weak to stand up to Donald Trump and his extreme, harmful policies.
This decision comes on the heels of Trump and MAGA Republicans’ reconciliation bill, which will cost “nearly 447,000 Virginians [to] lose some or all SNAP benefits – including 73,000 families with children” – and Miyares didn’t say a word about.
Communications Director Georgia Greenleaf:
“Jason Miyares has stood by silently as Donald Trump makes it harder for families to put food on the table, and now he’s too weak to stand up to an agenda that hides the truth about hunger in Virginia. Virginians deserve an Attorney General who will fight to protect children and families, not one who looks the other way while the Trump administration leaves them behind.”
