What’s At Stake In Virginia’s Attorney General Election

Norfolk, VA – As Virginians head to the polls today, voters have a clear choice between Democratic nominee Jay Jones, who will put Virginia first, and Trump-endorsed Jason Miyares, who has spent the last 3.5 years putting the needs of Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda over the needs of Virginians.

Across the country, attorneys general have been the first line of defense against Trump’s attacks on jobs, healthcare, and civil rights and freedoms – but in Virginia, Jason Miyares has refused to act. While Trump illegally fires federal workers, imposes unlawful tariffs, and cuts healthcare, public safety, and food assistance funding, Miyares has chosen loyalty to the president and his party bosses. 

Jones, a former Assistant Attorney General and delegate, is ready to put Virginians first. As the Commonwealth’s next Attorney General, Jay will:

  • Lower costs for Virginians by fighting for tougher protections against price gouging, discriminatory landlords, and corporate scams.
  • Defend against federal overreach by challenging Trump’s harmful policies when they hurt Virginians.
  • Protect fundamental rights and freedoms by strengthening voting and reproductive rights in the courts.
  • Keep Virginians safe by combating violent crime and supporting victims, getting illegal guns off the streets, and protecting Virginia’s children.
