Miyares Cancels Appearance with Extreme Anti-Abortion Group to Hide His Record

Norfolk, VA – Once again, Jason Miyares is trying – and failing – to hide his abortion record from Virginians. On Monday, Miyares was set to deliver opening remarks at a conference led by the Founding Freedoms Law Center, the legal arm of anti-abortion organization The Family Foundation – but his name has since been wiped from the website. This comes just months after Miyares committed to an earlier event with the same group that was dedicated to stopping Virginia’s abortion amendment “dead in its tracks,” before he pulled out at the last minute to save face.

Miyares has yet to explain why he pulled out of the event last minute, but voters already know about his anti-abortion record, from supporting an abortion ban to working to overturn Roe v. Wade and defund Planned Parenthood. By continuing to align himself with anti-abortion extremists time and again, Miyares has made it clear: his anti-abortion record “poses a new threat to reproductive freedom” in Virginia.
