Jay Jones Outraises Incumbent Jason Miyares in Latest Campaign Finance Report, Demonstrating Momentum with Virginians

50 days from Election Day, Jones’ haul proves he has the momentum and message to flip the Attorney General’s office

Norfolk, VA – Jay Jones, Democratic nominee for Attorney General, this evening announced that his campaign raised over $4 million in July and August of 2025, outraising Republican incumbent Jason Miyares by nearly $300,000 despite national Republicans continuing to pour millions of dollars into this critical race.

The campaign’s strong fundraising performance underscores that momentum is squarely behind Jones heading into the final stretch of the campaign. While MAGA-backed groups have invested heavily to prop up Miyares’ floundering campaign, supporters from every corner of the Commonwealth have coalesced around Jones and positioned him to flip the Attorney General’s office blue and deliver real results for Virginians.

Statement from Jay Jones, Democratic Nominee for Attorney General:

“This campaign is fueled by Virginians who are ready for an Attorney General who will fight for them every single day – not one who cowers on the sidelines as Donald Trump attacks our economy, livelihoods, and fundamental rights and freedoms.

“Our record-breaking fundraising proves that our message and tangible plans to lower costs for working families, defend fundamental civil rights and liberties, and keep our communities safe are resonating with Virginians. People across the Commonwealth know exactly what’s at stake this year, and they are stepping up in record numbers to make sure we have an Attorney General who will always put families first.

“This campaign isn’t just about politics – it’s about standing up for our shared values, protecting our kids’ futures, and building a stronger, safer, and more just Virginia for everyone. As Attorney General, I’ll do just that.”
