Norfolk, VA – The closure of three Augusta Medical Group practices in Weyers Cave, Churchville, and Buena Vista is the latest example of extreme Republicans’ reconciliation bill gutting Virginians’ healthcare – and how Jason Miyares has been too weak to stand up to MAGA extremism to fight to protect critical care. While other attorneys general fought Trump’s law, which is now wreaking havoc on Virginia communities, MAGA Miyares refused to sue the administration in defense of hospitals across the Commonwealth.
This is no surprise, given Miyares wrote the playbook for Medicaid cuts that are now at the core of the reconciliation bill, which is stripping $26 billion “in funding for health providers in Virginia.”
