Norfolk, VA – As Virginia faces the “largest job losses in the country” and housing affordability challenges, Attorney General Jason Miyares has once again stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Donald Trump instead of standing up for Virginia families.
Between “job losses blamed on canceled federal contracts in Northern Virginia,” “a slow housing market shutter[ing] a plywood factory in the southern part of the state, and DOGE efforts cancel[ing] flooding control contracts on the coast,” Miyares’ failure to sue Trump in defense of Virginians hasn’t just impacted day-to-day life, but families’ ability to buy a home and long-term economic stability. To add insult to injury, Virginia’s coastal communities – many of which are already in flood zones – have lost tens of millions of dollars being used to protect homes against flooding because Miyares continuously refuses to challenge Trump.
Communications Director Georgia Greenleaf:
“MAGA Jason Miyares has failed Virginia’s families to appease Donald Trump – full stop. While communities are hurting from job losses and homes are being put at increased risk of flooding, Miyares is more interested in protecting Trump than protecting Virginia. That’s not leadership.”
