Norfolk, VA – Last week, Attorney General Jason Miyares tried to bar journalists from covering a campaign event outside Charlottesville – and when that failed, his staffers physically stood between the press and the candidate to block them from Miyares. Despite the event being publicly accessible and at a small business used for Republican campaign stops in the past, Miyares singled out reporters and attempted to expel them from covering the event.
Communications Director Georgia Greenleaf:
“MAGA Miyares may run from the press, but he can’t outrun his record of attacking Medicaid, threatening Virginians’ fundamental reproductive freedoms, and allowing Donald Trump to take a hammer to Virginia’s workforce and economy. If Miyares is too weak to answer questions from the press, then he’s too weak to serve as Attorney General.”
