Norfolk, VA – After months of Jason Miyares failing to stand up to President Trump’s illegal tariffs and federal firings, Virginia is set to experience a declining GDP, a shrinking labor force, and rising unemployment.
According to new economic projections, Virginia’s economy will shrink in the second half of this year and into 2026, and unemployment is expected to climb to 4.6% – the highest it’s been since the pandemic. As Attorney General, MAGA Miyares refused to join lawsuits with other attorneys general to stop Trump’s tariffs that skyrocketed inflation and mass firings, so while other states were protected, Virginia’s consumers and workforce have been left behind.
Communications Director Georgia Greenleaf:
“MAGA Miyares has shown time and again that he’s more interested in protecting Donald Trump than protecting Virginians. His failure to stand up to Trump’s illegal tariffs and federal firings has left Virginia uniquely vulnerable, costing working people their jobs, shrinking the economy, and driving up unemployment. Virginians deserve an Attorney General who will fight for their livelihoods, not one committed to MAGA politics at their expense.”
